Malcolm A. Purow is the Managing Attorney at Light Path Law, P.A., where he practices civil and business litigation as well as personal injury law. Since 1997, he has held the prestigious AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, a recognition that signifies the highest level of professional excellence in both skill and integrity. From 2013 until 2023, Malcolm further distinguished himself by becoming Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Florida Bar. He is also a respected member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.

Malcolm earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, with minors in English and Philosophy, from the State University of New York at Albany. He went on to obtain his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law. During law school, he gained valuable experience as a Certified Legal Intern at the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office, where he became the first attorney hired by State Attorney, Janet Reno. Malcolm was later assigned to the Major Crimes division, where he prosecuted 1st Degree Murder cases, and served as Assistant Chief of the Felony Division, supervising 36 attorneys. He also taught Constitutional Law at the Police Academy at Miami-Dade College and trained fellow Assistant State Attorneys in trial practice.

In 1987, Malcolm transitioned from the State Attorney’s Office to the realm of Civil litigation, practicing in Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach Counties. Over the course of his career, he has litigated and tried hundreds of cases and has mentored numerous young attorneys in litigation. Since 2018, he has been practicing in the Lee and Collier County area.

Beyond his legal practice, Malcolm is happily married to his wife, Roxana. They have a son and daughter, two granddaughters, and another grandchild on the way. In his free time, Malcolm enjoys spending time with his dog, Max. He is also a licensed Realtor in the state of Florida.
