Carlos Calderón is the Chief Operating Officer at Light Path Law, where he brings more than two decades of distinguished legal, military, and leadership experience. As a retired Judge Advocate General (JAG) officer in the U.S. Army, Carlos has built a career defined by integrity, strategic thinking, and cross-jurisdictional expertise — qualities that now guide the firm’s operational excellence and client service across its expanding practice areas.
Before joining Light Path Law, Carlos served as Senior General Counsel and Command Judge Advocate at Camp Darby Military Community in Italy, where he provided counsel on international, administrative, and civil matters to military units, retirees, and local government officials. His background includes advising on contract and compliance law, risk management, employment and ethics matters, and international agreements, with an emphasis on practical solutions that protect both organizations and individuals.
Carlos also served as Assistant General Counsel at U.S. Southern Command, collaborating with partner nations in Latin America on rule of law, human rights, and transitional justice initiatives. His experience in international and administrative law gives him a unique perspective on the complexities businesses and families face when operating or relocating across jurisdictions.
At Light Path Law, Carlos leads the firm’s operational strategy and legal oversight, ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance across practice areas including Business Law, Employment Law, Personal Injury, Litigation, and the forthcoming Estate Planning and Real Estate divisions. His focus is on building systems that combine legal precision with compassionate client care — ensuring that every case benefits from both structure and heart.
